The kids have been bugging me to do a family activity so we decided to go mini-golfing at our neighborhood fun center. When it comes to mini-golf, I can go about 2 or 3 holes of taking turns, putting in order, keeping score, etc. before I (and the kids) lose patience and everyone just starts hitting the ball willy-nilly. I also can’t decide what’s worse: playing real golf behind someone that is super slow or playing mini-golf. I think mini-golf is worse – but that’s probably only because it’s the most recent exercise in frustration.
Sam invited one of his buddies to go along and afterwards we all had a treat (which is probably the main reason the kids wanted to have a ‘family activity’ in the first place) so overall it was a fun event. Another bonus of going mini-golfing is now that I’ve picked up a putter in the year 2011 I won’t have to pick one up again until maybe the year 2021!
