I took these pictures a long time ago but am barely writing about them. This year my youngest started kindergarten. She has been excitedly looking forward to the day when she could get on the school bus with her older siblings and finally the day was here. Usually on the first day I like to… Continue reading First day of School

More canning news
I got a call from my aunt Kathy on Monday inviting me to go with her and her daughter to Brigham City to go get some peaches for canning. Unlucky for me is that all my kids are in school and there is no good time for me to go except for weekends. I was… Continue reading More canning news
Anne’s Birthday
After my kids turn twelve then they do not get anymore friend birthday parties. When you have five kids it just gets too expensive. This year Anne turned twelve and had her last friend party. This year she wanted to have a swim party. It almost didn’t happen because the weather was not cooperating. Luckily… Continue reading Anne’s Birthday
Luppin’s Birthday
We decided to have Luppin’s birthday party in May because we were gone on vacation on her official day. Actually on her birthday we were visiting the Capitol building in Washington D.C. and being led around by Representative Chaffetz’s staffers. This year she got to have a friend party so she was really excited. We… Continue reading Luppin’s Birthday
No more Spring Programs
It is an end of an era. All my kids have attended Challenger School and at the end of this school year my last baby will have finished her stint at this great preschool. On May 15th I got to attend the last spring program I will ever go to with one of my kids.… Continue reading No more Spring Programs
Flag Football
Every spring BYUFan and I sign up all of our kids for some sport through the county rec center. This year instead of having the kids all in one sport we had them in three different sports. Emily and Anne chose Volleyball, Texas and Luppin chose soccer, and Samuel chose Flag Football. Last night was… Continue reading Flag Football

Yorktown was also the site of action during the Civil War as well. One of the reasons we decided to go to Yorktown is that our National Parks pass… Continue reading 2009 Vacation – Yorktown, Baltimore, and Home
Buddy’s birthday
Samuel had a friend party last year so he had a family one this year. For his birthday he got a scooter, a toy tank and some army guys to go with the tank. He says his favorite present was the scooter, he rides on it everywhere.
2009 Easter
Easter is a typically low-key event around here and 2009 wasn’t any different. Nancy did some Easter baskets for the kids and we colored eggs (we’ve never pretended the Easter Bunny at our house) and had an Easter egg hunt and that was about it. Oh yeah, we went to church on Easter Sunday but… Continue reading 2009 Easter
Texas’ birthday
Since we have five kids, early on I decided that everyone would have a friend birthday party every other year instead of every year. So this year Texas had a family party and got to go out to whichever restaurant she chose. Usually when our family goes out to dinner the kids each have a… Continue reading Texas’ birthday
